After Russell's death the Watchtower moved farther outside the mainstream and became despotic.
Interesting to ponder what the WTS would be like if Rutherford had not gained control of the Society like he had.
i was thinking about the newspaper article that said that jws stick to no blood transfusions because nobody else does it and so this marks them as different.
but there are other religions that don't allow any medical treatment so i'm guessing that would include blood medicine.. then i started to think about other things eg christmas - plenty of other religions don't celebrate christmas.
war - plenty of conscientious objectors.

since it is illegal for a corporation to have any social interests (a social corporation is an oxymoron), and since the entire purpose of a corporation is to make money for its shareholders, why do they need to be a coroporation to spread the "good news"?.
do the shareholders amass wealth?
are they allowed to sell their stock?.
My point was there are other advantages to being a corporation other than just making money for the shareholders.
well this week's book study wraps up the seventh trumpet blast of revelation.
there was even a nice neat box showing how they all were "highlighted" by something the dubs did in the 1920's.
almost all the blasts were some dry-as-toast, "look at me" speech given by jf rutherford at various conventions.
Leolaia that quote is just amazing. thanks for posting it.

The events after Herbert Armstrong's death were a very close parallel to Charles Russell's death. The thought of the founder is ignored and forgotten.
In the case of Armstrong I think this can really be seen as a positive.
the governing body of jehovahs witnesses has a lot to answer for, including:.
the unnecessary deaths of thousands of its adherents.
each death has a multiplying effect on each loved one.the destruction of countless families, since the organization demands allegiance to the men in brooklyn above allegiance to parent or child.the proliferation of mental illness, which is from 3 to 40 times the norm of the general society.regarding the latter point, it is not surprising to see delusive manifestations, as with jcanon.
One can only wonder at the destructive impact that the GB's thinking has had on people's minds, like JCanon’s.
Or Robert King & Greg Stafford for that matter.
i knew the watchtower once said christmas was okay, but i never thought i would see something like this from the presidents of the watchtower society.. http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=9622684182.

Quite funny!
Answer: females do ;) Heheh.
Great answer!
if the exile wasn't to be 70 years, how is jeremiah 29:10 explained by pro-587 folks?.
10 "for this is what jehovah has said, in accord with the fulfilling of seventy years at babylon i shall turn my attention to you people, and i will establish toward you my good word in bringing you back to this place.. .
also, if it truly was a 70-year period of servitude, and not exile, when was this 70 years served by other nations?.
Anytime a 587/607 debate pops up I cannot help myself but to put up a very simple comment.
Everything the JW apologist tries to argue means very little unless he ties it in with a conclusion. What is the end result of actually believing that the fall to Babylon was in 607?
Even if it could be proven we are left with very little. If we where to presuppose that 607 is correct there is still no reason whatsoever to believe that any of the conjectured nonsense the WTS attaches to it is correct.
If Jesus did show up in 1914 and then decided to choose the true religion 3 1/2 years later who is to say it was the Watchotwer? I'd like a JW apologist to get into those facts for once.
.. i am looking for stat's on publication placements in the usa from bibles, books, brochures and magazines that are offered for a volunteery contribution.. tenatively, a ball park figure or average amount generated per usa congergation(12390 plus).
..
I don't believe the Watchtower every publishes such numbers. There may be a vague reference to such things in the magazines, but never detailed figures.
i spent 10 years in bethel.
my only "friends" were bethelites and congregation members.
i left bethel 2 years ago and underwent a thorough investigation of the 'truth' without the so called blinders.
You've put a lot of thought and effort into your plan and it seems to be working. As can be expected those who do not listen to you will far outnumber those who take you seriously, but you (wisely) factored that in from the beginning.
As a side point I'd like to add that I've read your posts from time to time, but have not a complete picture of your story. Maybe you can share a full summary of everything in a post or two.
